Do you charge any booking or agency fees?

This is definitely one of our most common questions — and the answer depends on who’s asking!

Venues / Making a booking:
We don’t charge any hidden fees for bookings. Costs are based on the event type, artist(s), length, and other event details, and are agreed fairly with you and the artist. We don’t have a fixed price list, but we never add hidden or extra agency fees. Some bookings even come with free extras such as poster social media design for public, free-entry gigs at bars and pubs.

Artist:
We don’t charge anything to join our roster. Being part of BufferSounds is completely free and includes an artist listing on our site, free marketing, social media features, access to our private artist group and more. When we secure a paid booking for you, we take a small commission of 12.5%, capped at £50 for gigs up to £999. For smaller gigs priced at £120 or less, there’s just a flat fee of £10. For full details about the benefits of joining our roster and how our pricing works, click here.

How do I book an artist through BufferSounds?

You can either browse our live music roster and choose an artist, or simply tell us what kind of vibe or entertainment you’re looking for — we’ll take it from there. Whether you want a solo acoustic act, a high-energy band, or something specific, we’ll help you book the right musician for your event. We can even arrange artists beyond our public roster if needed. Booking live music with BufferSounds is quick, flexible, and tailored to your event.

Contact us here, email us at Connect@BufferSounds.com, or call 07400 379117 to get started.

What type of booking do you do?

We book live music for all kinds of events — from pub gigs, private parties and weddings to corporate events, open mic nights, and full-scale festivals. Whether you’re looking to hire a solo singer for a afternoon set or a full band to headline your evening, we can match you with the right artist. Whatever the size or style of your event, if it involves live music, we can help.

How much notice do you need for a booking?

Ideally, we recommend giving 2 to 4 weeks’ notice to book live music for your event — especially for weekends or busy seasons. But if you’re in a rush, don’t worry. We’ve arranged last-minute artist bookings with less than 24 hours’ notice. Just get in touch and we’ll do everything we can to make it happen.

Do you provide posters and social media promotion for gigs?

Yes — for free public events like pub gigs and bar nights, we include free poster design and social media promotion as part of the booking. Our aim is to help boost visibility and turnout, so you get a great atmosphere and the artist gets a great crowd. If you’re booking live music through BufferSounds, we’ll support you with simple, effective gig promotion.

How do I join the BufferSounds artist roster?

If you’re a musician looking for gigs, we’d love to hear from you. It’s completely free to join our roster, and we’re always on the lookout for talented solo acts, duos, bands, and musicians of all kinds. To find out how it works, head to our Artist Info page, or if you’re ready to apply, click here to join.

Artists on our roster get access to bookings, promotion, social media features, and ongoing support — all with no sign-up, montly or on-going fees.

What happens if a booking needs to be cancelled or changed?

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule a booking, just let us know as early as possible and we’ll work with both the artist and the organiser to find the best solution. Whether it’s a date change, a venue shift, or a full cancellation, we handle everything professionally and fairly to make the process smooth for everyone.

Where do you operate?

BufferSounds is based in Yorkshire, but we book artists for events all across the UK. Many of our musicians are happy to travel, and we also work with artists from across the country — including Yorkshire, London, the North West, and the Midlands. Whether your event is local or further afield, we’ll help you find the right live music for it.

Can BufferSounds help with full event management, not just booking artists?

Absolutely. Alongside booking incredible live acts, we can also support with full event planning — including scheduling, logistics, equipment, and on-the-day coordination. Whether you’re organising a festival, private party, corporate event, or something completely unique, we’ll work with you to make sure every detail runs smoothly and professionally.
